Eudora Pro Questions & Answers

  1. Can I change the default font for my mail?
Yes. Click Tools > Options and select the Fonts icon. Be sure to click OK after the selections have been made.

  2. How do I create a signature to attach to my outgoing mail?
Begin by selecting Tools > Signatures. Right-click in the Signatures window and select New.. to create your signature. Then be sure to designate the new signature as your default by clicking Tools > Options and selecting the Composing Mail icon. Select your signature as the Default Signature and click OK. Full instructions, with screenshots, for creating and using a signature file are available in the signature tutorial.

  3. Whenever I reply to a message the entire previous message is included. Can I set an option to not include the previous message?
No, the previous message is automatically included when you select reply. However, if you only want part of the original message quoted when you reply, you can select the part you want quoted before clicking the reply button. If you don't want the any of the previous message included, you must manually delete it or copy and paste the email address from the old message to a new one.

  4. How do Read Receipts work in Eudora?
Unlike some mail systems, when you request a Read Receipt in Eudora recipients are asked if they want the receipt sent. If they answer no, no Read Receipt is sent. A Read Receipt request must be requested for each message. There is no way to automatically request one with all sent mail.

  5. Is it possible to attach entire folders to a mail message?
No. Although many files can be attached to a single mail message, each file must be attached separately.

  6. How do I set up Eudora to use my fullname email address?
Email sent to your fullname email address will be received in the same inbox with email sent to your default email address when you check your Allegheny email. If you would like to change your Eudora settings so that your email is sent from your fullname email address, please see this tutorial.

  7. How do I display the message header information
Double click on the message, once the message is open is the full view, click the "blah blah blah" button from the toolbar. This will expand the headers and there will be an ip address of where the mail originated. You can use the mail forward option to send the message with the header information to any mail recipient if needed.
