Posting a Message to a Discussion Board


Overview:

The objective of this tutorial is to provide you with the steps to post a message and attach a file to a discussion board.


Procedure:

Log on to MyWebCT and enter the course that has the discussion board where you need to post messages and replies.

When you first enter a discussion board you will view this page:

Click on the Compose Message link and the Compose Message page will open.

Select the topic you would like this message to appear under in the Topic Pull Down Menu identified by the red box in the image above.

Choose a subject as blank subject lines are not allowed.

Type your message in the text box. If you are posting a longer message you might consider writing it in a word processing program and then copy and paste the text into the WebCT message box. This minimizes the chances for loosing your response due to window switching.

To attach a file:

a) Browse to find the file or type the filename of the attachment

b) Click Attach File. The filename appears. The file is attached.

Click Send.
