Accessing your Account Files through Ipswitch WS_FTP Professional

You can access files in your account from Windows by using Ipswitch WS_FTP Professional.

Start Ipswitch WS_FTP Professional by double-clicking its icon on the desktop. The program will start with a WS-FTP Sites window open. Select hercules if you are a student, or gator5 if you are an employee and click connect.

You will see the Password box, pictured below. Enter your password and click OK.

Once connected you will see a listing of your account folders and files in the right (Remote Site) window. In the left (Local System) window you will see files and folders on your hard drive. Double click the green arrow in either window to move up a directory. Double click a folder in either window to open the folder.

To transfer a file from your account to your local hard disk, click the file in the Remote Site window and click the left-pointing arrow between the two windows, or simply double-click the file in the Remote Site window.

Once the file has been transferred to your local hard drive, it will appear in the Local System window. If you have made changes to the file and would like to send the new version back to your account, highlight the filename in the Local System window and click the right-pointing arrow, or simply double click the filename in the Local System window.

When you are finished with your FTP session, click the Close button.
