The workshops will focus on the impact emerging technology has on liberal arts education and methodologies for taking advantage of those technologies within a liberal arts philosophy. The materials and activities of the workshop are geared to faculty and those who support instruction at liberal arts colleges with limited seats available.

Participation in this workshop is open to members of the Allegheny community and NITLE Network colleges. Similar workshops in years past provided an opportunity to investigate new instructional technology and learn how those tools are being utilized by instructors at peer institutions.

The registration deadline for this workshop is April 4, 2008 if you are interested in attending or learning more please contact James Fadden.

Last year, I found a podcast from the University of Mary Washington that provided an interesting window into the lives of students in regards to how they view their life online.

This year the folks at UMW offer us an update from a new panel of students as the culminating session of UMW's Student Academy on Information Technologies.

While obviously anecdotal, what the students share is consistent with what is being reported and put forth by leaders and journals in the field of education.
